Programme note

‘Great music has the faintest notes’ is the aesthetic in Laozi’s “Tao Te Ching". Laozi believes that great music should have the faintest notes, so the best music might be music with ‘no sound’.

Making use of the combination of singing bowls and piano, I would like to create a similar soundscape of Laozi aesthetic.

樂曲介紹

“大音希聲"是老子在《道德經》提出的美學。大音希聲的意思泛指越好的音樂應該要越寂靜無聲、最大的聲音是沒有聲音和聽起來稀疏的，所以最美的音樂可以說是無聲之樂。

這次作曲者嘗試以頌缽和鋼琴作組合，從而製造一個接近老子所指大音希聲的聲音世界。
